 About Stella Nova

A Stella Nova is a new star brightening and increasing in size to come into view. This is an apt descriptor of all the bright possibilities on the horizon for current and future generations, made possible by all the women that came before them and especially through the work of our current members. 

After a multi-decade push for equality by the USWNTPA, members created the Stella Nova collection to honor the year in which they achieved equal pay for equal work in their Federation by way of CBA negotiations and a lawsuit. The inspiration for the jersey being a symbol of this moment comes from the stories of the early years and the new era ahead.  

The message inside the neck is Equal PLAY Equal PAY which celebrates what the team has become known for off the field. Hidden numbers in the sleeves commemorate their on field legacy. The 18 Stars and 23 stripes on the outside of the jersey reflect the roster sizes for the biggest competitions they play.
