Our flagship Icarus Cup has invited teams from across the country to enjoy and take part in the Philly grassroots soccer culture, and we've had a lot of success doing that. Which had us thinking: where else has a distinct soccer culture that would be well-suited to a festival of football?

CASA had the answer: Austin, TX. Home of one of MLS' most fervent fanbases, a host of world-renowned festivals and a population committed to keeping things weird, Austin was the perfect host for the Icarus Cup's first away day. That was back in 2023, and we just celebrated Icarus Cup Austin's third - and largest ever - edition, with nearly 70 teams taking part.

One of the best aspects of Icarus Cup Austin is the fact it's grown thanks to the passion and involvement of some of our favorite grassroots clubs in the city, whether they're bravely volunteering for a messy pub crawl photoshoot or rallying their fellow Austin clubs to join the tournament (which has more than doubled since its first edition). And when the tournament kicks off, it plays out with a distinctly Austin flair.
