Music and football just go together: the delicate art of the pre-match playlist, derogatory chants set to ABBA tunes, gimmicky pre-World Cup singles - the list goes on. This connection, coupled with the importance of merch to artists’ income, prompted us to extend our kit design expertise to creating bespoke pieces for some of our favorite artists, from Mt Joy to Yard Act. Plus, it's just quite cool isn't it?
Are you a musician/label/manager who’d like to design a unique merch piece? Reach out to sales@icarusfc.com to hear more about our artist partnership program!
After sneaking some bootleg concept shirts to the band at a show, we then worked with Geese to create a unique merch piece to accompany their album Getting Killed. The shirts sold out in two concerts, so we organised an online preorder campaign for fans, supported by a promo video featuring a classically trained actor in a goose costume.
Our gift to our favorite band, and our contribution to the festival shirt starter pack.
(Modelled here by, of all people, Indonesian indie-pop star Hindia)
With the World Cup coming up and Seven Nation Army due to be chanted in crowds across the country, we collaborated with Third Man Records on a couple of limited edition shirts - one for the White Stripes and another for the record label itself. Both went clean and classic, with smart polo collars and buttons that are in fact incredibly easy to button.
Every year, War Child brings together 24 record labels, management companies and venues to raise money for children affected by conflict. This past summer we sponsored the tournament, providing the likes of Rough Trade, Domino, Beggars Group, Secretly Group and Ninja Tune with fully custom kits to play in - and raise money with!
As part of our Battle of the Bands tournament in Toronto, we partnered with the pioneering indie-rock collective Broken Social Scene on custom shirts inspired by Brendan Canning’s childhood watching Toronto Metros Croatia (RIP) in the NASL.
Throughout 2026, we collaborated with Partisan Records and Ezra Collective on multiple shirt drops, from a debut EP anniversary shirt to a limited edition West Africa/Caribbean jersey couplet included in vinyl preorders.
After stumbling across an exhilarating Maruja set in a shack in Glastonbury, we knew we had to try to translate their sound into a football shirt. Soon, we’d linked up with the band’s creative director to stitch the world of their album ‘Pain To Power’ into this limited edition piece.
Back in 2021, we partnered with Percival Menswear to make 'heavy metal football' more than just a turn of phrase about tactics.
To do so, Percival enlisted the help of London rock ’n’ roll jewellers to the stars The Great Frog to release this slick short-sleeved black football shirt and a long-sleeved white football shirt, both sponsored by uncompromising metal icons Motörhead.
After watching English post-punk band Yard Act at the world's largest football shirt convention (Glastonbury), we made a beeline for their management, asking if they'd like to make a custom jersey.
So, using their latest album cover (and Leeds United fandom) as inspiration, we designed and produced 350 shirts for their big homecoming show in Millennium Square, Leeds this past August.
A chance encounter with Philly’s own Mt Joy saw them ask us to design a merch jersey for their rapidly-approaching fall tour. We were more than happy to oblige, quickly turning around a shirt inspired by the lighting of their live shows ahead of their concert at Madison Square Garden. It's important that any Philly native storms into New York City prepared.
SOFY isn’t just one of British indie-pop’s brightest talents: she’s also a formidable collector of football shirts. So, when she asked us to make a merch jersey to celebrate her Chaos & Commotion tour, we were honored to join this fabled collection.
With SOFY's help, we designed a football shirt for the 'Rat Kingdom' - her (literal) pet name for her fans - and then hand-delivered the lot during her four-night residency at The Lafayette in London.
Working with bands is always a highlight for us, but when a group like GWCCI comes along, heads turn in the Icarus office. Not only do they perform their songs exclusively in Welsh, but they do it all totally anonymously, making them one of the country’s most exciting (and mysterious) acts.
To accompany the release of their debut album 'GAFR' we partnered with the duo on a retro Wales inspired shirt complete with band references and, for the first time ever, our Icarus retro fabric.
