Icarus Football is a design-focused brand that was founded in 2017 to provide teams with creative and personal apparel.  Each team that we partner with is provided with a dedicated graphic design professional. They'll work with a team to  produce totally unique designs that reflect their club's identity (i.e. history, values, location and culture).

In 2020, Icarus Football UK was established in London, which is where this position is based. This role represents a unique opportunity to join one of the world's most innovative football kit brands at an early stage. Job Title: Design & Operations Executive

This role is extremely varied. Approximately 50% of your time will be spent in operations, which includes invoicing, bookkeeping, communicating with our production partners, and ensuring that Icarus' final product matches the design proofs that a client approves. You'll be trained in all aspects of this role before you begin and gradually take on more responsibility with time.

The other 50% of your time will be spent on internal design projects, which will mostly fall under the bracket of publishing and illustration. You will also assist in the development and visualisation of the web app that Icarus is building. 

You can find a full breakdown of your responsibilities below. 

Web App UI:

  • Work with the Icarus team to design and visualise the company's ideal web application. 
  • Help convey the desired UI to web development companies that Icarus will work with.


  • Create illustrations as needed by the kit design team for new client requests. 
  • Create a bank of illustrations that can be kept on file for future kit and crest design requests.
  • Design comic strip style illustrations to accompany the Hellenic Champions League project. 
  • Design illustrations and graphics for social media where needed.


  • Create a set of internal presentation deck templates that will be used to pitch to prospective clients and present designs. 
  • Design the company pitch deck that will be used to raise investment. 
  • Design a mock 'matchday program' to accompany the Hellenic Champions League.

3D Kit Design (optional):

  • Create 3D versions of Icarus kits in Adobe Photoshop for clubs and brands to share on social media (optional).  


  • Calculate and send invoices to clients based on their order information. 
  • Upload a client's custom designs, font files and order information to the company CRM alongside relevant instructions for our production partners.
  • Cross-reference invoices sent from our suppliers with the order information that clients have provided us with.
  • Review design proofs sent from our suppliers and ensure that they match the final designs that a client has approved.
  • Correspond with our supply partners throughout the production process to ensure that items are being manufactured to the highest standard. 
  • Record relevant transactions and information in the company CRM.
  • Learn and document the operations aspect of this role for future recruitment, hiring and training of new employees. 

Job Qualification:

  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent design skill in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Strong interest in football and/or clothing design 
  • Entrepreneurial spirit 
  • Creative problem solver and effective communicator.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse group.
  • Foreign language skills (Optional).

    Job Type: Full Time (40 hours per week) 

    Location: At Icarus Football UK's London office (NW11 8ED). Remote / Hybrid work available when required. 

    Annual Leave: 20 days + Bank Holidays.

    Starting Salary: £24k/year
