Design Director (Philadelphia, PA) - Remote or Hybrid Possible

Icarus Football is a design-focused brand that was founded in 2017 to provide teams with creative and personal apparel.  Each team that we partner with is provided with a dedicated graphic design professional. They'll work with a team to produce totally unique designs that reflect their club's identity (i.e. history, values, location and culture).

We believe that our creative, accessible, affordable, and collaborative approach makes our company unique. The opportunity to play in kits that have been specifically designed for your club has historically been reserved for football’s elite organizations. Our mission is to democratize the kit industry and provide every club with the creative and personal kit that they and their supporters deserve. 

We're looking for a talented graphic designer to join the Icarus design team. A high level of proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and strong communication skills are essential for this role. On a regular day, you'll use a (1) client's brief to create initial kit designs and make (2) design edits where required until clients are happy with the final design. You may also be tasked with creating 3D versions of your designs in Adobe Photoshop and helping out with internal company design work. 

We would prefer it if you're able to work full-time on-site in Philadelphia, but we're also open to remote, hybrid or part-time work depending on your experience and skillset.

JOB TITLE: DESIGN DIRECTOR 

Job Responsibilities:

• Design unique and creative Icarus apparel based on a client’s brief (Using Adobe Illustrator)
• Convert 2D Icarus designs into 3D designs (Using Adobe Photoshop)
• Act as the voice of the brand when responding to clients in an informative and helpful way.
• Act as an advocate for creating and implementing more effective operations planning.
• Assist with Icarus’ branding and marketing by creating graphics and other designs that can be used in promotional content
• Manage your Icarus email account by responding to questions and inquiries, or forwarding them to the relevant team member.
• Learn and document this role for future recruitment, hiring and training of new employees who will take over this position so you can advance into next level leadership.
• Identify inefficiencies and create solutions for holistic company growth.

Job Qualification:

• Excellent design skill in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Strong communication skills
• Creative response to highly varied design challenges
• Ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives
• Entrepreneurial drive
• Adherence to health and safety regulations 
• Passion for the beautiful game

Job Type: Full Time (40 hours per week) or Part-Time 

Location: At Icarus Football's Philadelphia warehouse. Remote or Hybrid work is also possible depending on experience and skillset.

Compensation:Competitive salary, dependent on experience
